  • Commissioning a custom leather product at Maximus Leatherworks is a seamless and personalized experience. After you submit the form below, we’ll reach out within a week to discuss your request. We'll start by discussing your vision, preferences, and any specific requirements you have in mind. We’ll work out a quote and appropriate timeline for your project, which usually ranges between 4-6 weeks. If your piece requires body measurements, we’ll give you detailed information on measuring yourself. If you are located in Pittsburgh, PA we may be able to assist with measuring you.

    After you receive a quote, we’ll request a 50% deposit for your item. Once we receive your deposit, we’ll get started on your item.

    Once your item is completed, we’ll send you a picture for your review. If your item will be shipped, we’ll send a final payment request with cost of shipping. Once we receive your payment, your custom work will be on the way!

  • The cost of a custom leather product can vary depending on the complexity of the design, the type of leather used, and the level of craftsmanship required. As a rough estimate, our custom pieces typically range from $100 to $600 or more based on your specifications. Keep in mind that the beauty of custom work lies in its uniqueness and unbeatable quality, and the final cost will be tailored to your specific needs.

  • To ensure our orders go out in a timely fashion, we need to avoid frequently missed appointments. A client may cancel or reschedule an appointment two times. After the third instance of a cancellation or no-show, a $25 dollar fee will be charged.

  • We truly believe leather is for everyone— and we’re committed to creating leather goods that fit you perfectly. All products can be carefully customized to fit your body, gender identity, and personal preferences. We are an LGBTQ+ owned business and value inclusivity just as much as we value quality. Many of the models featured on our website own a custom piece themselves!

  • Although we primarily work with new leather, we also have experience transforming vintage leather and family hierlooms. For example, this is a great way to honor a loved one’s old leather jacket within a newly transformed piece.

    This is also a great option of those who practice a zero/low waste lifestyle. We can work with you to transform thrifted and second-hand leather into a new unique masterpiece.

    These projects will need to be carefully planned out with you, considering how much leather can be reulitized from your second-hand piece. You will need to send us your leather so that we can evaluate by look and feel what your options are.
